Our School

student and principal

Westport Heights (WHES) is a local LAUSD public school that serves the Westchester (90045) neighborhood. Our diverse population is comprised of local residents and NO students are bused into Westport Heights. We celebrate our more than 400 students, many who are first-generation Americans with families from dozens of different countries with an annual Multi-Cultural Festival! Our students are encouraged to share their family traditions in a safe and loving environment in our 18 classrooms and 1 Resource Specialist Teacher, under the creative instruction of our talented faculty.

Our curriculum is based on the highest and most proven current standards. We have a Full Day Kindergarten to give our students a great start in learning.  As a public school, we are always being monitored for improvement, and we are proud to say that Westport Heights’ API score has been steadily rising.

Our instructional programs are structured to meet the needs of all our children. CLICK HERE to find out more about our programs.

At Westport Heights, we are very proud of our teacher rating in the Los Angeles Times.  We have been awarded a “Most Effective” title due to the incredible skills and leadership from our teachers and staff in raising the abilities of our students (many of whom come to us speaking more than one language – although everyone learns in English at Westport).

Wouldn’t you like to send your children to a safe, nurturing and child-centered school in your neighborhood? We welcome your entire family into our Westport Heights Family and look forward to seeing you soon!
